Questions and answers

Can someone else take my photo?

Yes, and it’s easier: ask someone to take it at eye level from about 1.5 m away, so it’s straight and evenly lit.

Where can I check the official rules?

On GOV.UK’s passport photo page, linked in the table above. Rules for children and babies differ slightly.

Are my photos uploaded to a server?

No. Everything is processed inside your browser, on your own phone or computer. Your photos never leave your device and nobody else can see them.
