Remove the background from a photo
Upload a photo of a person and the AI separates them from the background in seconds. Download it with a transparent, white or any colored background. Your photo never leaves your device.
How to use it
- Choose a photo where the person is clearly visible.
- Wait a few seconds: the first time, the AI is downloaded and then kept.
- Pick the background: transparent, white, black or a color.
- Tap “Create image” and download it.
Does it work with objects or products?
We use MODNet, a model trained to cut out people: it works very well with portraits, selfies and full-body photos, but it isn’t designed for products, animals or objects.
Great for passport photos
If you need a white background for a passport or ID photo, go straight to the passport photo maker and tick “White background (AI)”.
Questions and answers
Why is it slower the first time?
Your browser downloads the AI model and the engine that runs it. After that they’re kept, and the next photos are much faster.
What format do I get?
A PNG if you chose a transparent background, so you can place the person over another image, and a JPG if you chose a background color.
Are my photos uploaded to a server?
No. Everything is processed inside your browser, on your own phone or computer. Your photos never leave your device and nobody else can see them.
